How to correctly use models about how the Brain works
How to view models of the brain
This video is taken from an interview some 10 years ago where Michael de Groot asked me some questions about aspects of Mind Mapping (Michael added all the graphics) Michael knew that I use many different models to help me understand how the Brain works so he asked me to share how I view ‘models of the brain’ indeed any ‘models’ that I use.
Some trainers for example believe the models that they use are TRUE and this often guides their teaching in what turns out to be unhelpful ways (especially for their students).
In this regard It can be useful to look back at a trainer teaching 10 or 20 years ago to see how consistent they have been in their teaching and how useful the models that they used back are now. A good model will have withstood the test of time and will still be useful.
